Welcome to Tribe Worldwear

Our lives are jam packed with activities, hobbies and people that we connect with to do the things we love. Connections influence our behaviour resulting in the people we become and the way that we live our lives. We form ‘Tribes’, our own circle of trust and influence and within them we share common interests, goals, thrills and spills. From surfers to yogis, ramblers to rugby players, when the ‘Tribe’ is respectful to others and the environment they operate in, you are welcome to become part of our Tribe.

Tribe Worldwear is a decade old business and is an eco-ethical fashion brand with a positive creative approach and strong original message. Our core ethos statement ‘Respect is the Ultimate Attitude’ is where we actively apply this thought to each other, our immediate environment and the world at large.

In line with this approach we only stock and distribute garments made using bamboo or organic cotton, which are both sustainable and good for the planet.

Bamboo

Bamboo fabric comes from the most sustainable plant on the planet. It’s hypoallergenic, so it won’t irritate sensitive skin. It’s naturally anti-bacterial, so it grows without pesticides, will not hold odour, and is more hygienic to wear.

Bamboo fabric also cuts out 98% of UV rays and Bamboo plants absorb nearly five times more CO2 than trees! This luxuriously soft fabric is anti-static, so it fits beautifully.

Earth Positive Organic Cotton

Some of our organic cotton garments are EarthPositive® which makes them ‘wholly ethical’, 100% organic cotton certified by the Fair Wear Foundation for ethical labour practices throughout its supply chain. Made in manufacturing facilities in India and powered by wind turbines, it reduces CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions by some 90%.

It’s environmentally friendly - certified by the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, Class I, a guarantee of the safety of textiles and dyestuffs to human health and the environment.

It also has a low water footprint, because production uses monsoon rain for up to 95% of its water, thereby reducing the need for large-scale irrigation projects normally associated with conventional cotton farming, which often deprive local villages of scarce water resources by draining lakes and rivers.

EarthPositive® also has a ‘No Airfreight’ policy, so the carbon footprint generated by transporting apparel is negligible, more like a fingerprint, less than 1% of the total.
