Part of the cruciferous family, brassica vegetables are rich in vitamins C and E and carotenoids. They contain some unique phytochemicals that have superior disease-fighting properties.

Kale has an Italian cousin which has been dominating dinner plates recently. Also known as Tuscan or Black Kale, Cavolo Nero is one of the most nutritionally dense vegetables.Part of the mighty ‘Dark Leafy Green Vegetables’ group referred to by nutritional therapists, which are thought to be essential in sustaining a balanced and healthy diet.

Red Cabbage
With 147mg of Vitamin C per 100g, red cabbage is brilliantly nutritious and thought to help fight cancer and diabetes. Red cabbage is high in fibre, which aids in digestion. The flavonoid (called anthocyanin) in red cabbage gives it its colour, which is also found in blueberries & flower petals.
